Rocky River Reservation in the Fall
I decided to try to get some sunrise shots at the Rocky River Reservation. I always forget that it's not really the best place to do that. It's in a river valley with steep walls, so most of the nice light is blocked by the sheer cliff faces. I decided to implement plan B and shoot some of the fall color.
I shot pretty close to wide open to get some nice bokeh effects. I think they bokeh almost distracts from the subject but I love the dreamy look it gives to the shots. I'm thinking about putting together a series of dreamy forest shots. I'm looking forward to winter to see if I can get some interesting stuff when the leaves have fallen off the trees.
I snapped a few shots of some chickadees while I was down there too. I love hand feeding the black capped chickadees. They are so much braver than their relatives the nuthatch and titmouse. Even the blue jays won't risk hand feeding.
