Black Capped Chickadee: My Muse

24 December 2014

More chickadees from over the weekend and Monday morning. I was able to get some nice close up shots. I took several hundred to get the few good looking shots I'm posting here.

Shooting small birds with a 50mm lens is challenge, but I enjoy it. It's fun to get close to the birds and really interact with them. You see details and behavior you wouldn't see if you were shooting with a telephoto lens. I haven't had to do too much cropping either. I have only cropped a couple that I thought it would really improve the composition or make the bird stand out from the background.

Summary

The bird that has kept me shooting outdoors during the winter.
