Too Many Social Networks
I just got done writing the code that make a pinterest button dynamically specify content for each page of my site. I really wish they would take advantage of the open graph tags I'm already using. Social networks are an easy way for users to share stuff, but it makes things more difficult on us poor web developers.
OK, the pinterest button actually wasn't that bad to implement, but the way they link back to content on a site often requires using HTML entitiies. I had to change all my & to %26 in my urls to get pinterest to link back to my stuff. Most social networks aren't that picky.
Does anyone even use all thes networks? I remember when Pinterest first came to everyone's attention and saw alot of Pinterest stuff on Facebook. Now I barely see anything for Pinterest. I don't know anybody that uses Google + or twitter, but I feel obliged to offer buttons so people can share stuff. I use twitter, but only to promote my quotations website.
I think the social bubble is going to pop soon.
